Newborn photographers in Melbourne have a variety of different styles and skills and it is important to find the style that suits you and your family best.

For me, beautifully natural and simple is how I like to photograph newborns.

Newborn photography is one of my favourite things because of the absolute simplicity. To me they are just perfect the way they are, therefore I use minimum props and keep retouching to a bare minimum also.

I like playing with light and shade and keeping colours either neutral, dark or light. I love black and white photography especially as variations in light, mood and emotion are bought back to their basics.

If you are looking for a newborn photographer in Melbourne, it is great to do lots of research and find someone who suits you. It is also advisable to engage a Photographer who is a member of the AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photographers) as this is the governing body in Australia for Photographers. As members we must adhere to strict Codes of Practise and pass a rigorous process to be accepted.

Here is a recent photoshoot of mine where we kept it as simple as possible, furry friends and all. This lovely couple’s first babies decided they needed to star in the photoshoot too and it was a total blast capturing them all.

The best time to take newborn photos is within the first two weeks after your baby is born.
